# AI MakeIT 2026 — Call for Papers

AI MakeIT 2026 is a one-day AI conference for software practitioners in **Ljubljana, Slovenia, on 26 November 2026**.

**Call for Papers deadline: 6 October 2026 at 23:59 Europe/Ljubljana (UTC+02:00).** The full 23:59 minute is included; submissions close at 00:00 on 7 October local time.

## Who the conference is for

Software developers, software architects, DevOps/SRE engineers, security engineers, engineering leaders, and people actively using AI in software development.

## The invitation

We are looking for real-world AI experiences, technical presentations, lessons learned, and practical demonstrations. Product sales pitches are not the purpose of this event.

## Topics — the conversations

- **AI in Practice:** real-world use of AI in software engineering, testing, DevOps, productivity, and business processes.
- **AI & Existing / Legacy Applications:** working with existing codebases, coding agents, code understanding, refactoring, migrations, and modernization.
- **AI & Software Architecture:** AI for system design, architecture analysis, architectural decisions, and modernization.
- **AI & Security:** AI for security and security of AI systems, agents, LLM applications, and their infrastructure.

Interesting AI-related topics outside these categories are welcome. Select Other in the form and explain your proposal in the additional comments.

## Session formats

- **Standard Talk:** 40 minutes, approximately 35 minutes of presentation plus 5 minutes of Q&A.
- **Extended Talk:** 60 minutes.
- **Workshop:** 90 or 120 minutes, in a hands-on format.

Alternative formats can also be proposed. Select Other and describe the format in additional comments.

## Selection preferences

Practical experience, technical depth, real implementations, lessons learned, failures and what was learned from them, demos, and concrete examples.

## Submitting a proposal

Use the [Call for Papers form](./#submit). Required speaker fields: name and surname, email, and short speaker bio. Optional speaker fields: company/organisation, role, LinkedIn/profile URL, and co-speaker information.

Required session fields: session title, topic, format, abstract, and key takeaways. Optional session fields: audience level (All levels, Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced), technical requirements/workshop prerequisites, and additional comments.

The speaker must agree to processing of their information for the Call for Papers. The organisers use proposal and contact details, stored in Google Sheets, to review submissions and contact speakers about the conference. Co-speaker information should only be provided with permission.

A successful submission replaces the form with a receipt and a backend-generated submission ID. The backend attempts to email a confirmation. If email fails, the proposal is still saved and the receipt explains this. Submission is not confirmation of acceptance.
